Last Thursday we held our annual blitz in memory of Deirdre O'Ryan. 🌟 Dee was such an amazing person and someone who was integral to our school community. 🙌 Although the day didn't exactly go to plan with the terrible weather we had, ☔ we made it work and 'got on with it' as Deirdre would have wanted us to. 💪 We had to reduce the number of teams down to 5 and move across to Ballymacarbry Community Centre, who were wonderful to host the blitz at short notice. 🏫❤️ Those involved had a fun day with fierce but fair competition throughout. 🤼♂️ After a tough battle between Ballymacarbry and Burncourt, it was the boys of Burncourt who prevailed to win the shield. 🏆 In the girls' final we had the same two schools, but on this occasion it was Ballymacarbry that prevailed. 🏅 A huge thank you to all that helped with organising and running the blitz and to our two referees on the day, Barry Burke and Nigel Carrigan, who kept the show on the road and ensured that there were brilliant games for all teams throughout the day. 🙏👏
